What you are about to read is a field guide for environmental listening that will provide you the tools, skills and basic concepts to both listen to your chosen environments and share your experience and insights. While this guide will support your individual activity and exploration, it also lays the groundwork for the development and training of community environmental listening groups.
We seek a way through environmental listening to harness community power (ranging from individual to large-scale community groups) to deepen our personal connection to the environments in which we live and to build community-driven approaches to climate impact.
Through environmental listening, we are collectively tackling the most critical ecological issues affecting climate change and sustainability.
We urge everyone to engage and participate in the worlds in which we live. Belonging to these places is key to protecting our habitats.
This field guide provides the resources to evolve how we listen and develop sonic awareness to shape how we engage with and maintain a healthy and stable environment.
The vision is to make real change, driven by you, the citizens of the earth. Individual behavior not only shapes the culture of the world but also is the balance between humans and our environmental systems.
